Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of software, services, and applications provided by Korbition ("we", "us", or "our"). They are organised in two parts:
- Sections 1–10 apply to all Korbition products and services; and
- Schedule A — Rulekestra: product-specific terms for Rulekestra, our rule automation product for Jira. Each product gets its own schedule as it launches; the general sections always apply too. A schedule can be linked directly, for example
korbition.com/terms.html#rulekestra.
The EULA (korbition.com/eula.html is a separate document, authoritative for the license grant, usage restrictions, warranties, and detailed liability provisions — the sections below summarize those topics and defer to it. If a schedule conflicts with the general sections on a product-specific matter, the schedule governs for that product.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany; the EULA sets out the full governing-law and jurisdiction provisions (EULA §18). Korbition's legal identity and provider details are published in the Impressum.
Schedule A: Rulekestra
1. Use of services
Korbition grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our software in accordance with these Terms and any applicable subscription or marketplace agreements. The detailed license scope and usage restrictions are set out in our EULA, which governs for those topics.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and connected service authorizations.
- You agree not to misuse our services, reverse engineer the platform, or attempt unauthorized access to other tenants or systems.
2. Integration & third-party platforms
Our applications integrate with third-party platforms such as Atlassian Jira, GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Google Workspace. Your use of those third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability or policies of third-party platforms.
3. Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the software, brand names (including Korbition and Rulekestra), designs, and underlying technology remain the exclusive property of Korbition.
4. Availability & SLA
We strive to provide 99.9% service availability. While we implement robust fault tolerance and automated failovers, services are provided "as is" without warranty against interruptions or unforeseen external disruptions. Product-specific availability commitments are set out in each product's schedule.
5. Authorized sub-processors
Korbition engages selected infrastructure and specialized cloud providers to support the delivery of our products. The authoritative sub-processor list is published in our Privacy Policy (§5); by using our services you acknowledge that list. Each sub-processor is subject to stringent security assessments and binding data-processing agreements — including zero data retention (ZDR) for AI inference and no model training on customer data.
6. AI features
Where a Korbition product offers optional AI features, the following applies to all of them: AI features send the text you supply plus limited context needed to perform the task to an AI inference provider. That provider operates in the European Union (currently Amazon Bedrock in the AWS EU (Ireland) region — see the authoritative list in our Privacy Policy (§5)) under Zero Data Retention terms. Nothing is retained by Korbition after the response is produced, and customer content is never used for model training. AI features are always optional and are never required to use a Korbition product.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Korbition shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service. Detailed liability terms — including the German-law carve-outs that always apply — are set out in our EULA (§14), which governs for this topic.
8. Termination
You may terminate your use of our services at any time by uninstalling the application and disconnecting authorized integrations. Upon termination, tenant-specific data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Product-specific termination details are set out in each product's schedule.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes that affect paying customers, we provide advance notice through the product or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
10. Contact
For inquiries regarding these Terms of Service, please contact us at [email protected] or [email protected].
These product-specific terms apply to Rulekestra, Korbition's rule automation product for Atlassian Jira. The general sections (1–10) apply to Rulekestra as well.
A1. The service
Rulekestra lets teams on Atlassian Jira Cloud and Jira Service Management build rules that react to Jira events and perform actions — editing and transitioning issues, commenting, notifications to Jira, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email, Confluence page creation, data export, and similar workflow automation. It is delivered through Atlassian Marketplace and runs on Atlassian's Forge platform.
A2. Marketplace billing
Rulekestra subscriptions are billed through Atlassian Marketplace under Atlassian's Marketplace Terms of Use; payment, renewals, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Atlassian, not Korbition. Korbition does not collect or store payment details.
A3. Acting under your authority
Rulekestra performs actions in Jira with the permissions of the rule author, so it can never do anything in your Jira site that the author could not do themselves. When an authorisation for an action cannot be established, the action is withheld rather than performed. You are responsible for the rules your users author and for the notification and export destinations they configure.
A4. AI features
Rulekestra's optional AI features — AI-assisted rule authoring, natural-language rule import, and JQL translation — follow the general AI terms in Section 6. Authoring rules manually does not involve AI inference at all.
A5. Availability
For Rulekestra we target the 99.9% availability commitment in Section 4. Events on Atlassian's side (Forge outages, Jira API degradation) may affect delivery; when they do, affected events are preserved and delivered on recovery where possible.
A6. Support & contact
Support for Rulekestra is provided via [email protected] and the Knowledgebase at korbition.com/docs/rulekestra.html. Security vulnerability reports go to [email protected].
A7. Termination & data deletion
You may terminate at any time by uninstalling Rulekestra from your Jira site. Uninstall permanently purges all tenant data — rules, credentials, run history, cached content — as described in the Privacy Policy (Rulekestra section).
